# Homepage + Menu

### About Homepage Layouts

Plain Jane offers a flexible homepage system designed to support a range of brand styles—from minimalist drops to content-heavy collections. The layout you choose determines how your navigation, visuals, and homepage flow is experienced by the user.

This guide is focused on **Plain Jane 3.0** and **Plain Jane Interactive 2.0**. If you’re using **Plain Jane Starter**, you won’t have access to these homepage layouts.

### Available Homepage Layouts

Plain Jane offers **three primary homepage layouts**, each built around a different menu/navigation structure:

#### 1. **Center Menu**

* Inspired by sites like Supreme
* Logo centered at the top with links stacked underneath
* Best for simple landing experiences
* Often paired with a full-screen background

#### 2. **Side-Aligned Menu**

* Menu positioned vertically along the left side of the screen
* Logo sits above or below the links
* Clean and minimal look
* Great for brands that want to emphasize visuals in the center of the screen

#### 3. **Compact (Hamburger) Menu**

* Collapsed "hamburger" icon reveals menu drawer on click
* Logo can be centered or aligned left/right
* Ideal for brands that want to build scrolling homepages with multiple sections

### Building Around the Layout

Each menu layout is designed to work with:

* **Dynamic Backgrounds**: Add solid colors, images, or slideshow backgrounds behind your menu
* **Section Blocks**: Use homepage sections like Collection Lists, Product Carousels, or Image Streams to build scrollable content
* **Page Canvas**: Use the `Page Canvas` section to structure your homepage when stacking multiple content blocks

> 💡 **Tip:** Compact menu is best for scroll-heavy homepages. Center/Side menus work best as single-screen landing pages.

### Want to Skip the Homepage?

You can bypass the homepage entirely by enabling **Skip Enter Screen** in Theme Settings. This will load a collection or product page as the first screen.
